New York as a Colony

Food!

Colonists in New York ate a variety of foods including turkey, bread, corn, and lots of grains such as wheat, rye, and barley. Butter was hand churned and grain was ground by hand. Colonists also hunted wild game which became a very important supply of food to the colonist. Hunting wild game is still a very popular sport and provides food to the American society today.
